Otter Day!

Once a month Juliet's school (the Otters) have a student recognition assembly. Most kids receive two awards a year. Juliet received two in kindergarten and two in first grade, but this year she has received THREE! We are so proud of her!

The first one this year was for responsibility. The second for being polite and just today she received her third one for leadership. Way to go Juliet! We're so proud of you!!

*noticed the freshly missing tooth on the top? That came out on Wednesday night. Seven teeth gone now!

It's gonna be a long week...

Mike worked yesterday and he doesn't have a day off until next Tuesday. He is having to cover for someone they laid off in addition to his regular hours. Granted it will be some nice overtime pay, but we will miss him big time. With our schedules being opposite, that means I won't see him till Saturday. Pray for us. I don't mind our schedule too much when we at least get some time mid-week, but we don't even have that this week.

Roller Skating

We decided to try out our balance at roller skating last night. We had a blast! Despite Mike & I killing our backs teaching the kids, we had a great time! The kids all loved it. They picked it up so quickly and we only had two bonks to the head by Calvin! He recovered well by getting back out there. If you haven't done it, you have to try. We are going to make this a regular occurrence because we had so much fun!

Disney on Ice

We went and saw the Disney's Princess Wishes yesterday. The girls wore their princess dresses and they got all dolled up! It was a lot of fun! We had great seats too! We were the third row up from the center of the ice! It was the best Ice show we've seen yet! Calvin even sat through nearly the entire show. He lasted on my lap all the way up until the last 10 minutes. That just shows how entertaining the show was!

If you haven't been to a show, you have to go one day. They really are a lot of fun!

Why do they have to grow?

I just don't like that the kids are getting older! Mia will be 5 in a few months and Calvin 2. I'm so not happy about that! I don't want them to get any bigger.

Calvin is a huge talker. He mimics everything we say. He loves to talk to keep up with the girls. He is starting to speak in sentences now too! It's so much fun! He is starting to get the whole imagination thing now too. When the girls are playing in their room, he wants to join them (of course). The girls give him his own Pet Shop toys and little house and they all three play in there nicely and quietly for a good 20 minutes. Cal then seems to have his fix and is on to the next thing for a bit. The girls just leave his stuff knowing that he will be back to play again soon!

Juliet is in the school musical this year! She is doing fantastic and is really excited. They practice 2-3 times a week and really have it together. I think we'll be having an after play party at the house when it's over. You'll be getting your invites soon. It's in March.

Mia is thrilled to be starting school in the fall. It's all she can talk about. She is absorbing the academic stuff right now like a sponge. Although she'd much rather play anything outside, she is going to come around to school here soon!

Mike and I enjoy every moment we can get with one another. He is working a lot lately and having opposite schedules makes us really focus on the time we do have together. We are really looking forward to the spring when we can get back outside and on to our walking, biking, scooter-ing, picnicking, etc. Hopefully that will happen here soon!
